The Egyptian authorities have prevented Ahmed Mohamed Morsi, son of deposed Islamist President Mohamed Morsi, from traveling to Doha through the Qatari Airlines, security sources said on Tuesday.
The security sources told Aswat Masriya that they also withdrew his passport.
The reasons behind Morsi’s ban have not been clarified until now, however, the privately-owned local newspaper al-Masry al-Youm said that Morsi’s son was “listed on the travel ban.”
Egypt has also banned Morsi’s other son, Ossama, from traveling last November.
Morsi, who hails from the Muslim Brotherhood, was ousted by the military in July following mass protests against his rule.
He stands trial now pending several cases, which include incitement to kill protesters outside the presidential palace in December 2012, espionage and prison break during the January uprising in 2011. Source:Aswat Masriya
