Egypt’s Syndicate of Journalists in Alexandria issued a statement on Thursday morning; affirming the refusal of suspending the editor-in-chief of “Al Gomhuria”. The syndicate sees this action as an attempt to predominate the journalism, journalists and opinion freedom.
The board of the Syndicate of Journalists in Alexandria stated that the authority which investigates with journalists is an independent authority that investigates only with its members.
The syndicate affirmed that it sticks to the continuity of journalism as a fourth authority in the new constitution. And the new constitution should secure the independence of journalism and the freedom of information dissemination.
