The families of civilians killed in terrorist attacks will be entitled to special pensions in accordance to a decision issued by Prime Minister Ibrahim Mahlab Wednesday, reported the state owned MENA news agency.
Earlier Wednesday an explosion targeting a military academy killed two students and injured six other civilians.
A wave of militant attacks has hit the country since the ouster of Islamist president Mohamed Morsi in July 2013. While most attacks have targeted security forces and headquarters, civilians have been also among the killed and injured.
The special pension will be LE1500 for those entitled no other pension. Victims already entitled to a pension, but one less than LE1500, will be compensated the difference.
Victims whose pension’s are already LE1500 or more will be compensated an extra LE500.
The same will apply to those who have suffered major injuries that led to complete disability.
