Egypt’s High State Security Prosecution has ordered 15-day detention of the son of Muslim Brotherhood businessman Hassan Malek, Omar Malek, on charges of inciting and particpating in violence leading to death.
Brotherhood members Hazem Farouq and Ahmed Abdel-Hadi have also received 15-day detentions with the same charges.
These arrests are the latest in a serious of similar detention orders, as security forces stage a crack-down on the Islamist group and its allies, carrying out mass arrests of the Brotherhood’s senior leaders and members nationwide.
Charges against these prominent Brotherhood figures have largely included inciting violence against their opponents.
