by Amwal Al Ghad English

President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi met on Monday 9/6/2014 with Foreign Minister of the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) Raymond Tshibanda at the Presidential Palace in Heliopolis.

The meeting was attended by Egypt’s Foreign Minister Nabil Fahmy and the Congolese ambassador in Cairo.

The Congolese minister conveyed to Sisi the congratulations and greetings of President Joseph Kabila and his wishes of progress and prosperity for Egypt, Presidential Spokesman Ehab Badawi said.

The President lauded DRC’s long-standing stances towards Egypt and its rights in Africa, Badawi asserted.

Sisi added that Egypt has a full concept for the form of cooperation with Africa, which will be based on the African peoples’ interests.

Egypt, which supported all African countries to obtain their independence and has spared no effort to support the continent in all fields, did not expect the African Union’s stance towards what happened on June 30 in Egypt, Sisi said during the meeting.

Sisi also asserted that Africa would figure high in his foreign policy during the coming period.

For his part, the Congolese minister said that his country was looking forward to promoting cooperation with Egypt in all sectors, topped by agriculture, mining, communications and electricity.
