Egypt welcomed a record-breaking 1.35 million tourists in April 2023, said the Minister of Tourism and Antiquities Ahmed Issa on Monday.
The record-breaking number marks a significant milestone for the country’s tourism sector which is still recovering from the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020.
Th minister said that the country has been expecting to welcome 15 million tourists in 2023.
If the 2023 goal is met, it will break the 14.7 million record which was set in 2010. According to Issa, Egypt is seeking to attract 30 million tourists per year by 2028.
