Interim President Adly Mansour met a delegation of US congressmen led by Republican Congressman Steve King in Cairo on Sunday, reported the Ahram Arabic website.
The delegation includes also Republicans Michele Bachmann and Louie Gohmert.
The delegation will meet with General Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, the minister of defence and commander of Egyptian armed forces, later on Sunday where they will discuss the latest regional and international developments as well bilateral relations.
A group of GOP congressmen also visited Egypt in September 2013, when they praised the interim government and the Egyptian armed forces for ousting president Mohamed Morsi. In a press conference after their meeting with officials from the interim government, Bachmann described the Muslim Brotherhood as “a common enemy.”
