Assailants killed one policeman after they threw a bomb at a bank in the industrial zone of 6th of October city in Giza governorate, Al-Ahram Arabic news website reported.
The assailants also fired live ammunition after they threw the bomb, according to the Ahram Arabic website.
Egypt has experienced an increase in bomb attacks and drive-by shootings, mainly targeting police and army personnel, since the ouster of Islamist president Mohamed Morsi in July 2013.
On July 1, simultaneous attacks in two North Sinai cities left 21 army personnel, including four officers, killed and more than 100 militants dead, according to the army.
