by Administrator

The chairman of hotels chamber in South Sinai, Hussein Fawzy, said the reason for decreasing the occupancy rates in Sharm AL Sheikh and South Sinai’s hotels, which is ranging nowadays between 35% and 40%, is the European Championship.

Fawzy explained that the European Championship negatively affected on the occupancies rates, because the European tourists, who come to Egypt at summer, are watching Euro incidents now. Also the status quo which is influenced by the political turmoil the country faces and the fears of organizing tours to Egypt are reasons for this decline.

He mentioned that the stay fees in the hotels at the current time retreated by 50% due to the decline of the coming tourism. The tourism in Egypt may witness improvements in case of stability after announcing the elections’ result.
