Norwegian state-run Enova company has announced on Thursday its investment of NOK 669 million ($68 million) for a number of green hydrogen hub projects and hydrogen-powered ships.
Enova company that owned by the Ministry of Climate and Environment, is also providing NOK 451.3 million ($46 million) for seven hydrogen and ammonia-powered vessels.
The hubs would be able to provide hydrogen to 35 to 40 different boats altogether, according Enova’s CEO Nils Kristian Nakstad, said.
Norway will improve its position as a leader in the development of emission-free shipping solutions, Nakstad added.
Therefore, the company aims to reorganise the energy usage and production in Norway for fulfilling country’s climate goals.
