Egyptian President Mohamed Morsi is included in the nominations of the US-based Time’s Person of the year 2012. The vote is for the person that the readers think most influenced the news this year for better or worse. 40 prominent figures are included, like US President Barack Obama, US Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, Syrian President Bashar Assad, and US Swimmer Michael Phelps.
The magazine chooses the person who most influences the news in 2012 for better or worse, in order to appear on its cover at the end of the year.
Last year, the magazine chose the Arab spring protestors to appear on the cover, while the founder of the social network “Facebook”, Mark Zuckerberg, to appear on the cover in 2010.
The magazine wrote about Morsi that he is in a position that allows him to reshape the future of the Middle East region.
Voting closes at 11:59 p.m. on Dec. 12, and the winner will be announced on Dec. 14.
