Cairo’s Nile Ritz Carlton hotel will open its doors in July, a source working in the hotel’s human resources department told Ahram Online.
Since 1959, the hotel, located across Tahrir square, has been operating as a Nile Hilton. In 2011, Hill International received a contract from Misr Hotels co. (MHOT) to manage the renovation of the soon-to-be inaugurated hotel.
According to the Hill International website, the project was constructed on an area of roughly 64,000 square metres, costing EGP 600 million.
“Works included renovating the existing main building, which housed 331 guest rooms/suites and public areas; demolishing the office extension building and shopping mall; constructing a new conference/ballroom, and adding an underground parking garage,” read the website description of the hotel.
