Tourism to Luxor and Aswan have increased by 22 percent in the first quarter of 2023 according to Middle East News Agency.
According the agency Chairman of the Cultural Tourism Marketing Committee Mohamed Othman said on Monday that this first quarter of this year was “exceptional”
He also said that there has been an increase in the tourists’ spending compared to the same period last year by a percentage of 18 to 20 percent.
During the first quarter of 2023, Luxor and Aswan welcomed prominent figures like Belgium’s Queen Mathilde, Crown Princess Elisabeth the duchess of Brabant, and Danish Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen.
According to TripAdvisor’s Travelers’ Choice Awards, Luxor and Aswan were in the top trending destinations in the world for the year 2022.
Egypt expects to witness an increase in the number of tourists by 28 percent this year to a total of 15 million, according to the minister of Tourism and Antiquities Ahmed Issa.
