by Administrator

The former Board Chairman of Al-Ahram Center, Abdel-Fatah El-Gebali, filed a lawsuit before the Administrative Judiciary Court against Chairman of Shura Council; calling for canceling the decision issued by the Chairman of Shura Council on 4th September, which concerns appointing new board chairmen for the national newspapers.

In his lawsuit, El-Gebali elaborated that this decision violates Article 64 of journalism law 96/1996, which provides for the term of board chairmen of the national newspapers is 4 years and can be renewed.

The lawsuit (58152/66) added that the former board chairman was appointed on 13th November 2011 in Al-Ahram under No. 1419/2011, so he hasn’t already finished his legal term in this position and he has to continue tell 12th November 2015.
