Israel is “ready to accept thousands of Jewish immigrants from Ukraine,” said its Immigration Minister Pnina Tamano-Shata at a conference of US-Jewish organisations on Thursday.
“Israel is prepared to deliver immediate humanitarian assistance to Ukraine,” Tamano-Shata added.
According to Israeli foreign ministry estimates, there are currently about 43,000 Jewish Ukrainians living in Ukraine in addition to some 15,000 Israeli nationals also living in the eastern European country.
