Egyptian Foreign Ministry sources revealed to Al-Akhbar Lebanese newspaper that a delegation from Yemen’s Houthis will visit Cairo soon, noting that receiving the Syrian delegation was linked to presidential directives, aiming to resolve conflicts happening in the region, especially in Syria and Yemen.
Middle East Transparent quoted former diplomatic sources saying that the reason for the Saudi anger against Egypt, goes back to the UK suspicion that Egypt has been involved in smuggling Scud missiles (Chinese made) to Houthis in Yemen.
According to sources, the Saudi pursuit to the missiles’ smuggling activity revealed that China has sold Scud missiles to Iran, which was sent to Houthis through Bab el Mandeb Strait; this raised Saudi authorities’ ire which has led to the halt of Saudi oil exports to Egypt.
