Egypt’s President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi will head to the Cypriot capital Nicosia Tuesday on an official one-day visit to hold talks with his Cypriot counterpart Nicos Anastasiades. Sisi will then attend a three-day summit with the Cypriot president and Greek prime minister.
The summit will work on developing trade and investment relations between the three countries, as well as continue negotiations on the demarcation of borders and the gas fields issue, said sources at Egypt’s Embassy in Cyprus.
Senior officials from the three foreign ministries held a meeting yesterday at the Foreign Ministry of Cyprus to discuss final arrangements for the summit.
Prior to Sisi’s trip to Cyprus, Greek President Prokopis Pavlopoulos visited Cairo, accompanied by a high-level delegation.
