The 19th edition of Euromoney Annual Conference – the most important financial event in Egypt– has been postponed from 24-25 September to 11-12 November at the InterContinental CityStars.
In a statement to the media today, Richard Banks, Regional Director for Euromoney Conferences, said
“After long and detailed discussions with our partners in the Government and private sectors we believed that we needed a few more weeks to ensure a conference of our usual quality and impact. We faced the challenge of accommodating many local and international participants all wanting to be part of the event – and in the end we decided we needed more time to prepare.
Our partners understood this need and have kindly agreed to move the conference to 11-12 November.
Following extended discussion with the Cabinet Economic Committee and the Office of the President we are creating a revised agenda which will be genuinely representative of the new Egypt. We will include many new voices as well as many long-term partners. We’ve been overwhelmed by the interest in this event and are grateful to all those who have contributed and continue to contribute to what will surely be the year’s highest profile, most important and most interesting economic conference.
I am also pleased to announce that we are presenting to our partners a series of interconnected projects to be run over the next year – all with the goal of telling the true economic and political story of Egypt. I cannot think of a more exciting time to be working on this initiative. I thank all our partners, speakers, sponsors, delegates and representatives of the media for their patience and support. We could not do this alone.”
The conference is set to be under the rubric: “Economic Priorities and the Role of Financial Markets”, aiming to discuss the challenges facing Egypt’s economy in the coming few years alongside alluring foreign investments to the country.
The conference is due to provide a platform for urgent discussions about Egypt’s economic, financial and investment future.
The 2013 Euromoney Egypt Conference was going to enhance dialogue on the true state of the Egyptian economy impact of instability on domestic and foreign investment. High profile speakers from both the public and private sectors planned to discuss on Egypt’s economic strategy and longer-term view on the sidelines of the conference before the postponement remarks were released.
Euromoney Conferences is the world’s leading organizer of conferences for capital markets and cross border investment.
