Egypt’s Supreme Court Refers PA’s Challenges to State Commissioner Authority

Judge Maher Al Behairy, head of the Supreme Constitutional Court, decided to refer the three litigations, filed by the lawyers Naguib Gebrial, Makary Gebrial and Tharwat Bekhait , to State Commissioner Authority. These litigations concern the decree of President Mohamed Morsi of reinstating the People’s Assembly.

First Circuit Court of Administrative Judiciary, headed by Judge Abdel Salam El Naggar, deputy chairman of State Council, decided last July to refer more than 30 lawsuits, which challenge the decree of President Mohamed Morsi, to the Supreme Constitutional Court. The litigations filed by the former presidential candidate Abou El Ezz Al Hariri, Eng. Mamdouh Hamza, Naguib Gobrial, Mohamed Hamed Salem, Adel Khedr, Nour Farahat, Assem Kandil, Nabil Ghobrial, Mahmoud Bassiuny, Saad El Din Naguib, Kamal El Islamboly, Khaled Saeed Shaaban, Tarek Al Awadi, Abdel Aziz El Touhamy, Wael Hamdy El Saeed, Ahmed Abdel FattahEl Rouby, Adel Salah Khedr, Abdel Aziz Mohamed and Mohamed Amer Helmy. They also filed by Ibrahim Fekry, Edward Kamel, Abou Bakr El Sedek Askoura, Ismail Gama’e, Alaa Samir Mahmoud against the president Mohamed Morsi, the head of SCAF, and Dr Saad El Katatni, the head of the dissolved PA.
