Elsewedy Technical Academy (STA) celebrated on Sunday the completion of the foundational elements crucial for the success of the first class of technical education and vocational training for talented students.
The first batch of the educational class, set to graduate in 2024/2025, comprises 21 students who will undergo a three-year academic programme focusing on the technical specialisation of ready-made garments.
The project marks the first integration of talented students, thereby upholding the principles of accessibility and equal opportunities for all youth without discrimination.
The celebration ceremony was attended by STA partners, including the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD), Abu Dhabi Commercial Bank – Egypt (ADCB), and the Academy’s technical partner, Mary Louis Bishara for Readymade Garments, students, and their teachers.
ADCB has extended financial sponsorship to several students with hearing disabilities to enable them to pursue studies at the academy, said Enas Kadri, Chief Communication, ESG, and Customer Excellence Officer at the bank.
Khaled Hamza, office manager at EBRD, said that the bank has allocated funds to engage qualified consultants and experts to support and guide a group of 21 male and female talented students.
The initiative aims to empower them and support their aspirations, allowing them to demonstrate their capabilities in the labour market, according to Mary Louis, President of the Ready-Made Garments Export Council.
