Egypt’s President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi arrives in Washington on Monday for a visit of several days, during which he will meet his U.S. counterpart President Donald Trump.

During the visit, the president will hold a number of meetings with senior officials, members of the U.S. Congress, the Central Chamber of Commerce, the Secretary of State and the US Vice President.

The ministerial delegation accompanying the president includes Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry; Trade and Industry Minister Tariq Qabeel; Investment and International Cooperation Minister Sahar Nasr; and Finance Minister Amr al-Garhi.

Sisi and Trump are expected to discuss a number of issues, notably: combating terrorism and illegal immigration; the situation in the Middle East; and the crises in Palestine, Yemen, Syria, Iraq and Libya.

Meanwhile, the popular diplomacy delegation continued its rounds in Washington, meeting with US Representative Louie Gohmert of Texas; Wyoming congresswoman Liz Cheney and congressman Ted Cruz who introduced a bill to classify the Muslim Brotherhood as a terrorist organisation.

The delegation provided the officials with pictures, videos and other files documenting the group’s terrorism activities.

The American side pointed to the need to solve the problem of the Americans suspects implicated in the case of NGO funding in Egypt.

They also brouht up a concern over the Chinese presence in the New Administrative Capital, because the Chinese companies are contributing greatly to the project; the U.S. side called for greater participation of the American private sector in the project.
