Three people were killed and others, including policemen, were injured when clashes flared up between Muslim Brotherhood supporters and security forces.
The National Coalition for Supporting Legitimacy has called for staging demonstrations on Friday to voice protest against Egypt’s decision to label the Brotherhood a terrorist organization.
In a statement on its Facebook page, the ministry said that 265 rioters were arrested in today’s protests and clashes.
According to the statement, the clashes resulted in injuries among the ranks of policemen and officers.
Egypt has declared the Muslim Brotherhood a terrorist organization. This declaration entitles Egyptian authorities to accuse any member of the group of belonging to a terrorist organization.
