Egypt will host the third summit of the tripartite talks to establish a free trade zone grouping all of the Common Market for Eastern and Southern Africa (COMESA), SADC and EAC with the participation of 26 African presidents. President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi will preside over the summit to consider the establishment of a free trade zone grouping all of COMESA, East African Community (EAC), and the Southern African Development Community (SADC), said Mounir Fakhri Abdel Nour.
In exclusive statements to Al-Akhbar, Abdel Nour added that Sisi would hold a meeting with 125 representatives of American companies to discuss increasing US investments in Egypt in all fields topped by energy and petroleum sectors.
In another context, Abdel Nour said that Egypt’s economic summit would be held mid March, after a number of Japanese and Chinese companies called for postponing the economic because the summit would coincide with the Asian New Year.
He added that the postponement came to give the government and private sector the chance to resume feasibility studies of projects to be offered to investors during the summit.
