Egyptian President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi has met a number of Spanish businessmen in Madrid Thursday to discuss enhancing means of bilateral economic relations, presidential spokesman Alaa Youssef said Thursday.
The meeting was held in the presence of representatives of Egyptian companies accompanying the president.
During the meeting, the representatives of some Spanish firms emphasised their intention to invest in Egypt as its economic situations are currently witnessing noticeable improvement, Youssef stated in an interview with a Spanish magazine.
The president affirmed that Egypt cares to fight off all challenges that face foreign firms working in Egypt.
President Abdel Fatah al-Sisi was invited to visit Spain during his meeting with Spanish Foreign Minister José García-Margallo y Marfil Dec. 27, 2014 in Cairo.
Moreover, Sisi’s visit aims to strengthen bilateral ties with Spain; Spanish investments in Egypt have exceeded €700 million (US$784 million) in the fields of gas, cement, renewable energy, automotive industry, and railroads.
