Egypt, Somalia sign MoU to enhance cooperation in media field

Egypt’s and Somalia have signed on Monday a MoU to enhance cooperation in the media field between the National Media Authority (Maspero) and Somalia’s Ministry of Information, Culture and Tourism, according to cabinet’s statement.

Under the MoU, the two countries will exchange research and studies to learn about the latest developments in digital, electronic and printed media field, Egypt State Information Service’s chairman Diaa Rashwan said.

The parties will exchange films, radio and television documentaries that reflect different aspects of life in both countries, as they will exchange television programs on national occasions and holidays, said Maspero’s chairman Hussein Zain.

Somalia will receive the Egyptian satellite channels that broadcast on the international satellite Nilesat and Arabsat, as well as receive the Egyptian directed radio and rebroadcast it on one of the F.M stations operating inside Somalia.
