Egypt sees 178 new coronavirus cases on Wednesday, registering a total tally of 105,883 cases since the outbreak of the pandemic in mid-February.
The health ministry also reported 13 new deaths, bringing the total deaths from the virus to 6,155.
The statement said that 103 patients had been discharged from hospitals in the past 24 hours, bringing the total number of recoveries to 98,516.
Despite the drop in cases, Egyptian authorities have warned that the country has not yet emerged from the crisis despite the fall in new cases and deaths, urging strict adherence to preventive measures nationwide.
Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly ordered on Wednesday stricter enforcement of regulations making face masks obligatory in public spaces and transportation modes.
