Egypt raised on Thursday the fuel prices by 25 piastres per litre of gasoline in a quarterly review that links energy prices to international markets.
The prices of 80-octane, 92-octane and 95-octane petrol were increased to 7 Egyptian pounds ($0.45) per litre, 8.25 pounds ($0.53) per litre, and 9.25 pounds ($0.59) per litre, respectively, a petroleum ministry statement published in the official gazette read.
The price of diesel fuel kept unchanged at 6.75 pounds per litre given its direct and indirect impact on transportation and food commodity prices, the statement said.
To date, Egypt’s Fuel Automatic Pricing Committee (FAPC) kept the fuel prices unchanged in its January review and increased them by 25 piastres in April and July.
