Egypt has condemned a suicide bombing that targeted a wedding party in Kabul and left scores dead and injured on Saturday.
In a Sunday statement, the foreign ministry said Egypt stands by the Afghan government and people in its war against terrorism.
It also offered condolences to the victims’ families and wished the injured a speedy recovery.
The Islamic State terrorist group claimed responsibility on Sunday for the suicide bombing at a wedding reception, which killed 63 people and injured dozens.
The attack came as the Taliban and the United States try to negotiate an agreement on the withdrawal of US forces in exchange for a Taliban commitment on security and peace talks with Afghanistan’s US-backed government.
