Shehata Mohamed Shehata, Chairman of the Egyptian for Integrity and transparency, called on the President to use the power that he granted for himself pursuant to the constitutional declaration. It provides for granting the president the power of restructuring the Constituent Assembly, in case of annulling it for any reason; through withdrawing 30 members who belong to religious movements and replacing members of different political movements.
Shehata said the state of resentment among many political powers is because the religious movements have the majority of the assembly; explaining that this majority received with strict refusal.
The center’s chairman called on the president to adopt this suggestion and issue a decision of amending the assembly’s formation by swapping 30 members of the religious movements with different political movements for keeping balance in the formation of the assembly, and having a balanced constitution satisfies all Egyptians.
