Giza Criminal Court, headed by Judge Hosam Mohamed Dabous, adjourned the case of Ahmed Maghraby- the former minister of housing, Zohair Garana-the former minister of tourism, and Khaled Mohamed Makhlouf- the head of the Executive in Tourism Development Authority, till April n29 to hear the defense. The defendants are accused with illicit gains, squandering the public fund and confiscating the state’s land in Hurghada.

The court heard today the prosecution’s defense as well the claimants who called for heavy sentences on the defendants.

It was mentioned that the prosecution convicted the accused with illicit gains and facilitate confiscating the state’s land; as the first defendant assigned thousands of meters of Hurghada’s land to “Royal for Tourism Development Co.” when Garana was its board director whereas he owns 42.5% in return for $1 per one meter while the real price of the meter is almost $7 as this resulted in squandering the public fund.
