The Cairo International Film Festival (CIFF) announced that it has opened the gate for film submissions in all categories for the upcoming 45th edition, which will take place at the Cairo Opera House 15-24 November.
Film makers from all over the world will have the opportunity to submit their entries through the CIFF official website from 15 April to 1 August.
“We are proud of all the achievements of the 44th edition,” said CIFF President Hussein Fahmy, promising the festival audience an edition “no less than the previous one in terms of the quality and level of films and the rather important participating guests.”
Amir Ramses, the CIFF director, announced that this year’s edition will included a new competition for documentary films.
The 44th edition screened 108 film from 53 countries, with 30 films making their global and international premieres. In addition to 57 films that premiered in North Africa and the Middle East.
These films included award-winning films like Alcarràs, Bread and Salt, EO, Saint Omer, Banshees of Inisherin and The Fabelmans.
The CIFF is one of the oldest film festivals in Africa and the Arab world and is the only film festival in the region to be registered under Category A in the International Federation of Producers in Paris (FIAPF)
