Chinese leader Xi Jinping and his Syrian counterpart Bashar Assad has witnessed on Friday a strategic agreement in various fields, which will become an important milestone in the history of bilateral relations.
“China is willing to continue to work together with Syria, firmly support each other, promote friendly cooperation, and jointly defend international fairness and justice,” Xi told Assad.
The president said China would support Syria in “resisting foreign interference and unilateral intimidation and preserving national independence, sovereignty and territorial integrity.”
It is worth mentioning that Assad arrived in China and his wife, Asma on Thursday, and he attended the opening ceremony of the Asian Games, an international sporting event, in Hangzhou on Saturday.
