Cairo Appeal Court finished almost 250 releases for the trial sessions of the ousted president Hosni Mubarak’s sons, Alaa and Gamal, and 7 defendants in Al Watany Bank of Egypt’s sales irregularities case. Cairo Criminal court, headed by Judge Mohamed Reda Shawket, will consider the case tomorrow.
The releases include the defendants’’ families and their defense, the claimants and representatives from different newspapers and media.
An official judicial source asserted that the trial broadcasting will be restricted on the Egyptian TV.
In statements to “Amwal Al Ghad”, Ahmed Kora, former chairman of Al Watany Bank of Egypt, said he had no relation to the investigations about selling a share from the bank for the Kuwaiti bank.
He added that selling process had done a year and half after his resignation; explaining that he was against selling any Egyptian bank for foreign investors.
Kora elaborated that Capital Market Authority and EGX administration bore the responsibility; as they had to stop the purchasing process.
It is mentioned that Alaa and Gamal Mubarak and the 7 defendants are accused of unlawfully getting sums from the bank’s selling process; almost EGP 2.6 billion.
