About 824K Tourists Arrived In Red Sea During 2012.

Egypt’s General Authority for Red Sea Ports has announced that in 2012 the tourists number reached 824.492 ones, compared to 551.921 ones in 2011; increased by 272.571 tourists.

The annual reports of the authority elaborated that the total number of tourists arrived to the ports of Suez, Safaga, Nubeia, Hurghada, Sharm Al Sheikh and Ain Sukhna amounted to 433.4 thousand tourists, compared to 283.9 in 2011, and rose to 149.5 thousand tourists. Meanwhile, the travel movement in 2012 reached 391 thousand, compared to 268 thousands from a year before.

The total passengers movement in the Red Sea ports amounted to 1.297.874 passengers in 2012, compared to 1.315.572 ones in 2011; decreased by 17.698 passenger.

The report showed that the total passengers’ movement arrived in ports of Suez, Safag, Nubeia and Hurghada reached 640.752 passengers, compared to 662.024 ones, down by 21.272 passengers. While, the total number of passengers that left the ports is 657.122 passengers, compared to 653.548 ones in 2011, up by 3.574 passengers.
