Field Marshal Hussein Tantawi, the head of the Supreme Council of the Armed Forces (SCAF), received this morning US Secretary of State Hillary Clinton and the accompanying delegation.
The meeting tackled the developments and the rapid changes on the local and regional arenas, and ways of supporting the American- Egyptian relations. During the meeting, Clinton explained Washington wish to support the co-operation relations with Egypt, because it is a strategic partner in the region.
The meeting was attended by a number of the SCAF members and the US ambassador to Cairo Ann Patterson. The US Clinton arrived in Cairo yesterday, in the first American official visit to Egypt, after naming Dr Mohamed Morsi as president last June.
President Mohamed Morsi received yesterday the US Secretary of State, and she had discussions with her Egyptian counterpart Mohamed Kamal Amr.
