Mauritanian president in Egypt for talks with Sisi

Mauritanian President Mohamed Ould Abdel Aziz arrived in Cairo on Saturday for a three-day visit to conduct bilateral discussions with Egyptian counterpart Abdel-Fattah al-Sisi, state news agency MENA said.

al-Sisi and Ould Abdel Aziz will convene an Egyptian-Mauritanian summit which will discuss mutual cooperation and economic ties.

Ould Abdel Aziz was among the African heads of state who attended the inauguration ceremony of an extension to Egypt’s Suez Canal in 2015.

Mauritania will host the 27th summit of the Arab League, which is headquartered in Egypt, on 26-27 July.
