Seven injured Palestinians arrived in Egypt on Wednesday via the Rafah border with the Gaza Strip, an Egyptian official told state agency MENA.
Israel has been waging an unrelenting military offensive in Gaza since 8 July, with the death toll reaching at least 1,300.
The wounded Palestinians were received by a team of medical staff at the crossing, who did a preliminary examination to determine the appropriate hospital for their injuries, North Sinai’s health ministry undersecretary Tarek Khater told MENA.
Each injured Palestinian was accompanied by a family member.
The Rafah crossing has been kept closed by the Egyptian authorities who cite security concerns related to Islamist militants in the Sinai peninsula where Rafah is located. Authorities have said this week that 110 Palestinians have been allowed to enter Egypt via Rafah for medical treatment since the beginning of hostilities.
