Former civil aviation minister Ibrahim Manaa paid EGP 4.324 million to the Illicit Gains Authority. According to the Central Auditing Organization’s (CAO) report, 13 members of boards of directors representing airline companies, bodies of the Ministry of Civil Aviation and the Egyptian Aviation Services achieved unlawful gains through their membership of these boards.

Members of the Egyptian Aviation Services’ board of directors, representing shareholders, are not entitled to achieve gains in their personal capacity, but they shall receive only travel allowance, attendance allowance and similar allowances.

It is worth mentioning that the Egyptian Aviation Services’ board of directors has members representing Ministry of Civil Aviation, Egyptian Holding Company for Airports and Air Navigation and EgyptAir Holding Company as well as other shareholding members as Misr Iran Development Bank and other investors.

Amwal Al Ghad publishes a copy of one of the checks by which EGP 2.162 million – out of the total EGP 4.324 million – was paid to the Illicit Gains Authority and the letter sent to the Central Bank of Egypt.
