Egypt raises minimum wage of government employees to EGP4000

Egypt’s President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi announced the raise of minimum wage of public workers from 3500 Egyptian pounds to 4,000 pounds ($129) on Saturday among a series of measures that help enhancing the living standards of citizens.

The president made the announcements during his visit to Sods Al-Umaraa village in Beni Sueif governorate. The decisions include doubling the exceptional cost of living bonus for all pensioners from 300 pounds to 600 pounds.

In addition, al-Sisi raised Takaful and Karama programme benefits by 15 percent and doubled the exceptional grant for 11 million pensioners and beneficiaries to 600 pounds, up  from 300 pounds.
