Egypt reported 115 new coronavirus (Covid-19) cases on Monday, bringing the total infection tally to 96,590, according to a the health ministry statement.
The ministry also recorded 13 new deaths, bringing the total number of deaths from the contagion to 5,173.
The statement said 908 patients have been discharged after recovering from the virus, bringing the total number of recoveries to 60,651.
The daily toll of new cases dropped below the 200-case threshold for the first time since April on 2 August, with the daily toll hovering between 110 and 178 cases.
Egypt’s Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly stressed on Monday it is necessary to continue to adhere to the precautionary measures against the coronavirus pandemic to avoid a resurge in the number of infected cases.
