The United States House of Representatives voted on Wednesday in favour of formalising its impeachment inquiry on President Joe Biden.

According to the Republicans, the resolution will give them power to gather more evidence and enforce legal demands.

Three Republican-led House committees have accused the american president of bribery and corruption during his tenure as vice-president.

However, they are yet to present evidence of wrongdoing, while Biden says his opponents are attacking him “with lies.”

The lower chamber of Congress approved the inquiry on Wednesday afternoon by a vote of 221 to 212.

According to the law, voting to authorise an inquiry is not the same as voting for impeachment.

However, it advances the likelihood that the House will eventually seek to impeach Biden.

Biden’s government has been involved in the Israeli war crime committed against the Palestinian people in Gaza, and have been receiving lots of criticism since.
