Ukraine has started preparations for negotiations on new agreements on a free trade area (FTA) with Egypt, Jordan, Indonesia and China, Minister of Economic Development, Trade and Agriculture Ihor Petrashko said on Tuesday.
“Preparations are underway for negotiations on an FTA with Egypt, Jordan, Indonesia and China,” Petrashko said during a press conference in Kyiv.
He added that Ukraine had also started negotiations with the EU on revising the Association Agreement.
Earlier this month, Taras Kachka – Ukrainian Deputy Minister of Economic Development, Trade, and Agriculture – said his country plans to sign free trade agreements with a number of countries, starting from Egypt to Morocco within the current month.
“This December, we plan to formalise this in official statements or memoranda, starting from Egypt to Morocco. Also, Jordan, Vietnam and Indonesia are among our priorities,” Kachka said.
