Universal Coding Corporation (LLP) (UCC) has formally opened its regional office in Cairo, Egypt, a move aimed at supporting the state’s efforts to foster digital transformation.
“The launch of UCC Global in the Egyptian market is the most important achievement that the company has strived to achieve, in addition to the presence of a large base of agents for our services locally, regionally, and globally, in more than 32 countries around the world,” Hassan Aly, CEO of UCC Global, said during the opening ceremony on Thursday.
Founded by three Egyptian fellows, Ahmed Swailam, Hassan Aly, and Hossam Amer, the company started its businesses in the UK, nine months ago, with the aim of finding real solutions to fight the monopoly of the barcode industry in Egypt and worldwide.
Ahmed Swailam, Chairman of UCC Global, said the launch of UCC operations in Egypt is the beginning of achieving a breakthrough in the barcode industry and identification services and tracking products of all forms and types.
UCC Global will promote and support the achievement of digital transformation in Egypt, which is one of the most important goals of the state’s Vision 2030.
“We have launched an Egyptian company for barcode services capable of competing globally, and today we launched Cairo office, aiming to export digital services and contribute to supporting the national economy.” Hassan Aly told Amwal Al Ghad English on the sidelines of the opening ceremony.
UCC is providing three services; the barcode, QR codes, and Track and Trace systems for all companies and entities at competitive prices all one-time fees, Aly further said.
For the barcode services, he said the company aims to provide all the data related to the required product. The company’s QR code services store inclusive information such as numbers and letters in all normal and complex languages, hyperlinks, e-mail addresses and even full information about communication with a specific person. The track and trace systems the UCC offers for bodies and governments to control, monitor and follow up the movement of medical and food products.
The company also offers RFID technology, which means identification using radio waves. It relies on the use of stickers with a serial code number to identify the product in addition to information recorded on a chip or microchip attached to Antenna so that it can receive and send data and information through radio wave, he further noted.
“We look forward to partnering with global agents, because the company’s mission is based on innovation and creativity in its work by providing globally approved technological services and solutions that can be used in anywhere, disrupting conventional norms in global markets,” “We plan to open our U.S. office in Texas within three months.”
The launching ceremony witnessed the attendance of Essam El Naggar, Head of the General Organisation for Export and Import Control (Goeic); Tarek El Hobay, President of the National Food Safety Authority, along with multiple stakeholders in the industry.
On the sidelines of the signing ceremony, UCC Global has signed multiple cooperation protocols with regional and international partners, including Digital Business Solution (DBS) to work together on international identification and coding solution projects to achieve Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030.
The company also signed a cooperation protocol with Switzerland’s DI Consulting Gmph, with the aim to develop Track and Trace systems for bodies and governments to control, monitor and follow up the movement of medical and food products.
