During the first half of 2013, the United Arab Emirates has received Egyptian agricultural exports totaled EGP 405 million, representing an increase of 40% from exports received earlier in 2012.
Senior sources in the Egyptian foreign trade sector have told Amwal Al Ghad that the UAE is capturing the lion’s share of Egypt’s agricultural crops exports, compared to other Arab countries.
Egypt’s total exports of the agricultural crops to the Arab countries have reached EGP 3.6 billion in H1/2013, the sources added.
Moreover, the sources said Egypt’s agricultural crops exports were totaled around EGP 9.8 billion, with an increase of 54%, compared to EGP 6.5 billion in H1/2012.
Mr. Magdi Al Waliliy, Member in the Agricultural Export Council (AEC) told Amwal Al Ghad that the remarkable hike in Egypt’s exports sector was backed by the ministerial decree to resume exporting the Egyptian rise. The decree has been earlier adopted by the former trade minister Hatem Saleh.
