UAE hospitals to treat 1,000 Palestinian children from Gaza

United Arab Emiratis (UAE) President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan has ordered 1,000 Palestinian children to be brought to the country accompanied by their families in order to receive medical treatment until they recover and return.

The initiative to host children from the war-torn Gaza Strip and provide them with medical treatment is an extension of the UAE’s continued efforts to offer relief to the Palestinian people, particularly children.

The announcement came in a phone call today between Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Minister of Foreign Affairs, and Mirjana Spoljaric, president of the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC).

UAE President Sheikh Mohamed sent 73.5 million United Arab Emirates Dirhams in humanitarian aid to the Palestinian people and Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, vice president of the UAE directed a further 50 million dirhams.
