The Israeli occupation forces are currently operating “in the heart of Khan Yunis” for the first time, Al Arabiya reported on Wednesday, citing their military.

The Israeli forces said they “arrived at the centre of Khan Yunis and targeted raids in the heart of the city,” which it said is the heart of Hamas’ military and administrative rule.

“We are devastated,” said Palestinian civilian Amal Mahdi after she survived an overnight Israeli strike on Khan Yunis.

“We need someone to find us a solution so we can get out of this situation,” she added.

According to UN figures, much of northern Gaza is now rubble with 1.9 million civilians displaced.

There is now nowhere safe in Gaza with displaced Palestinians having nowhere to go.

So far, the Israeli occupation forces killed 16,248 innocent civilians in Gaza, 67 percent of them are women and children.

The UN human rights chief Volker Türk pleaded for an immediate ceasefire in Gaza to stop further civilian deaths.

“Palestinians in Gaza are living in utter, deepening horror,” Türk said.

“Civilians in Gaza continue to be relentlessly bombarded by Israel and collectively punished… I call for an urgent cessation of hostilities,” he added.
