Transport Ministry Considers Implementing Multimodal Transport Of Goods

The Ministry of Transport has prepared feasibility studies for three transport projects. These studies are about building a dry port for transporting containers by railways and a railway link from Ain Sukhna to the places of cement companies and the other study is about the Mediterranean Sea road as well as the other roads and means of transport in Egypt.

The Minister of Transport, Dr. Mohamed Al Meteny said the plan set by the Projects Planning Authority will impact the GDP after establishing the projects. The Authority was assigned to study the requirements for implementing the Multimodal transport of goods.

During his meeting with the deputy head of the Projects Planning Authority Gamal Hegazy, Al Meteny suggested setting a clear plan with giving attention to human factor and the recent scientific researches about projects planning.

Al Meteny stressed that the transport companies and authorities have to be given access to the plans set by the Projects Planning Authority.

The Minister of Transport emphasized on the importance of solving the obstacles facing the Authority and the continual training of the Authority’s employees.
