Egyptian trade and industry ministry is currently drawing comprehensive strategy to activate exhibitions and fairs industry for short and long terms, Minister Tarek Qabil announced Thursday.

He added that this industry is a major factor in developing all industrial sectors.

The new strategy is set to encompass comprehensive ideas and visions about organising exhibitions in all governorates not only in Cairo, Qabil added.
The minister made these remarks during inaugurating the 10th session of Cairo Inter Leather fair and the 57th session of Cairo Fashion and Tex. Both fairs are taking place in at Cairo International Convention Center from to 6 March 2016.

Cairo Inter leather is a trade fair that focuses on bringing together the world’s top manufacturers and exporters, to meet with eager professional visitors, buyers and decision makers from Egypt and worldwide.

Meanwhile, Cairo Fashion and Tex is the first and only international exhibition specialized in yarn, textile, garment and it’s trimming supplies and accessories in Egypt.

Around 502 exhibitors participate in both fairs including 350 large Egyptian firms manufacturing shoes, leather products, and clothes, in addition to 152 foreign firms from Kuwait, China, Turkey, Pakistan, India, Saudi Arabia, Lebanon, Syria, and Greece.

Minister Qabil noted that the ministry is about to organise exhibitions in six governorates to promote made-in-Damietta furniture.

The minister clarified that developing fairs and exhibitions system is on the top of ministry’s strategy as pursuant to its approach to establish international conference centre to be the largest one in the Middle East.

The new conference centre is set to be established according to the latest and best international standards at the New Administrative Capital.

The aim of this new centre is to promote different Egyptian products and attract more international exhibitions and fairs to be established inside Egypt, Qabil noted. Hence, Egypt will be an important economic and commercial centre and attractive place for different and large regional and global fairs.
