A balance should be achieved between the increase in population and the economic growth in order to upgrade the living conditions of the Egyptian family, according to President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi.
Major objectives of the project should also include upgrading population characteristics, al-Sisi said during a meeting with Prime Minister Mostafa Mabouly.
The meeting was attended by Planning Minister Hala el Saeed, Health Minister Hala Zayed, Social Solidarity Minister Nivine El-Qabbaj, presidential adviser for health affairs Mohamed Awad Tag Eldin and head of the National Council for Women Maya Morsi.
al-Sisi urged all bodies concerned to join forces to handle the population issue via a comprehensive approach in a way that helps improve the citizens’ living conditions.
He asserted the need to develop accurate data bases to effectively reach out to all social categories, with the possibility of benefiting from the ongoing efforts of Decent Life initiative.
The meeting touched on the progress in a national project to develop the Egyptian family as well as its proposed executive plan, presidential spokesman Bassam Rady said.
The project’s plan is based on economic empowerment, provision of services, offering awareness, education and culture programs and digitization in addition to the legislative framework, he added.
