Telecom Egypt to adopt IBM’s automation technologies in network development

by Nada Ali

State-run Telecom Egypt (TE) has announced on Monday its partnership with International Business Machines Corporation (IBM) to adopt its latest automation technologies and create a comprehensive solution for its mobile, landline, and broadband networks.

Under the agreement, TE will adopt IBM Cloud Pak for Watson Artificial Intelligence for IT Operations (AIOps), based on RedHat OpenShift technology, and robotic automation (RPA) solutions to support the company’s operations.

IBM RPA will allow TE’s engineers and IT operators to track the network’s operating capacity and service quality across the country, the statement added.

“We are happy to work with IBM as our technology partner to improve our networks’ operational efficiency” said TE’s Managing Director and CEO Adel Hamed.
